One Project Convention

Firebrand has one project-specific instruction file: FIREBRAND.md. Discovery walks a short, deterministic chain. Its @imports are depth-limited, hashed, and budgeted on local legs. On the local plane a discovered workspace chain replaces configured auto identity — that is the mini attach. On a cloud-class leg the door layers additively, last. Configured identity stays authoritative; the compiled mini protocol is class-excluded from the door's imports; closure files dedupe.

Local legs never read AGENTS.md or CLAUDE.md. Those names are a minefield and a budget problem. Cloud legs may read them as harness-file parity so Firebrand holds equal context with any other harness. The setting is auto | always | never, default auto meaning cloud only. Harness files are a recorded context layer. They do not change a bare identity label.

The door is Firebrand's own harness file and rides every class. Local never inherits a neighbor's instruction convention. Cloud may match it, on purpose, as a recorded extra.

Kindle Is a Separate Gate

The cleanroom proves bare boot. Kindle proves the local door: a fixture identity or mini protocol under budget attaches; a broken or over-budget closure refuses; planted neighbor harness files are never read. Those are two products in one binary, not one vibe.
