CLI Academy

Updated: 2026-05-04

Master AI coding tools — Claude Code, Cowork, Dispatch, Remote, Skills, Codex, Gemini, and the cross-tool patterns that make them all click.

A complete operator's manual for the AI CLI landscape circa 2026. Eight tracks across Anthropic's full product family (Claude Code, Cowork, Dispatch, Remote, Skills), OpenAI's Codex CLI, Google's Gemini CLI, and the cross-tool concepts (MCP, context files, sandboxes, Skills) that make them interchangeable building blocks.

AI coding CLIs went from a research curiosity in 2024 to the daily-driver layer of professional development by 2026. This quest is the operator's manual for the landscape: not a comparison piece, not a vendor pitch, but a working knowledge of how to actually use each tool, where each shines, and which patterns transfer cleanly between them.

The mental-model track up front establishes the universal shape — agent in a loop, permission-gated tools, context-file pattern, trust dial. Once you see it, every CLI looks like a variation. The vendor-specific tracks then go deep on Claude Code (13 lessons), Cowork (8), Dispatch (6), Remote (6), Skills (7), Codex (11), and Gemini (10). The cross-tool track at the end shows how MCP, AGENTS.md, Skills, and the trust-dial concept give you portable mental infrastructure.

Real exercises across all 70 lessons — install on your machine, configure on real repos, run real automations. By the end you'll have working CLI configs, real Skills, real MCP servers, real CI/CD wired up, and the judgment to pick the right tool for each new job.

  6. 06🎓Claude Skills

    0/7 lessons

The open standard for portable AI capabilities

Skills are folders of instructions and resources that any compliant AI tool can load — Claude Code, Cowork, third-party agents. Build them, structure them, ship them. Frontmatter, body, supporting files, scripts, testing, enterprise deployment.
